Saltus Grammar School won the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Under 12 Boy’s Middle School Six-A-Side Tournament after defeating Purvis Primary 3 - 0 in the final.
An Under 12 Tournament was created to give Purvis Primary and Francis Patton an opportunity to compete with both schools having Primary 7 students this year.
Saltus didn’t concede any goals on their way to winning the Inaugural Tournament.
Jace Postlethwaite opened the scoring for Saltus after a neat build-up starting from defender Adam Barritt who found Mackay Browne on the right who in turn then squared the ball to Postlethwaite giving him the simple task to slot the ball home from close range. Postlethwaite doubled the lead midway through the first half assisted by Xonti Burch. Burch sealed the win in the second half with Postlethwaite becoming the provider.
Saltus had earlier defeated Warwick Academy 2 - 0 in the Semi-Final with Postlethwaite scoring on either side of halftime to send his team to the final.
Purvis Primary defeated the Whitney Institute Middle School 3 - 1 in the other Semi-Final. Kyron Bryan gave Purvis a 1-0 lead which they took into the halftime break. Zhale Trott equalized early in the second half after his deflected shot wrong-footed the Purvis goalkeeper. Purvis would regain the lead from the resulting kickoff after Psalm Caines precise pass put an advancing Bryan clear on goal and he made no mistake slotting the ball past the advancing Whitney goalkeeper. Jaylon Glasford rounded out the scoring for Purvis after blocking an attempted clearance from the Whitney goalkeeper and converting into an empty net.
