Andrew Armstrong from Pompton Lakes High School Men’s Soccer earned the distinctive honor of Regional All-American, presented by the United Soccer Coaches.
The state’s leading scorer, Armstrong found the back of the net 37 times this year, a feat that’s amplified by the fact his team got knocked out in the North 1, Group 2 Quarter-Finals and gave some of the state’s other top scorers a chance to catch him, though none did.
Playing Division I soccer at Dayton, Armstrong scored in 16 of Pompton Lakes’ 19 games with 13 multi-goal games this season as he set the Pompton Lakes single season and career scoring records in the process as well.
Armstrong was selected on the 3rd Team All-State, and is taking part in the MLS Next Fest event in Arizona.
