Nia Christopher and her Towson University Women's Soccer teammates cruised to a 7 - 0 win against Delaware State for their fifth straight win.
Towson got a five-goal performance from Christopher that included a goal in the fourth minute of play. Her five goals were the most in a single game in program history. That set the tone for the rest of the match in the 7 - 0 win.
Towson improved their win streak to five games and are undefeated in their last six with five shutouts.
Christopher moved into sole possession of sixth place all-time in goals for Towson with 22. She is now just one back of tying fifth place. Christopher also recorded the most goals in a single game with five.
Christopher started the scoring early with a goal in the fourth minute. Christopher took a through ball from Phoebe Canoles to give Towson a 1-0 lead. Christopher struck again just minutes later, once again taking a Canoles pass to make it 2-0 in the 19th minute. Jasmine Hamid got into the act just two minutes later. Hamid ripped a laser from about 40 yards out, beating Maribo to the upper corner for a 3-0 advantage. Christopher would cap the half with her third of the game in the 27th minute, this time from Demi Pierre to put Towson up 4-0 at the break.
Towson would not stop there, as Christopher scored just 19 seconds into the second half for her fourth goal of the game. Christopher capped her outstanding match with her fifth of the day, taking a rebound off a Canoles shot in the 52nd minute. Khori Banks would score a late goal in the 81st minute. After a handball in the box, Banks stepped up a slotted home the penalty kick to give Towson a 7 - 0 victory.
