Harvey & Springfield Edge Farmingham

IslandStats.com
Sajan Harvey and his Springfield College Men's Soccer teammates picked up a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Framingham State.

The entire first half was held in a scoreless tie with Springfield registering seven shots in the period. The Pride had a scoring chance in the final five minutes of the period, but Jake Hartshorn made an athletic save from the home team. The Rams broke the tie with a strike from Dante Mancini in the 55th-minute off a feed from Nahuel Algibay.

Later in the half, Springfield advanced the ball up the field to towards the box and a Framingham foul awarded the Pride a free kick. Jack Rosenberg lined up the free kick and rifled it past the Rams defense for the equalizing goal in the 78th minute. With only two minutes remaining, the Pride forced another turnover and benefitted from great ball movement up the field. Andrew Ma lifted a pass perfectly to Aiden Casinghino, who headed it through to give Springfield the 2-1 lead.

Casinghino's header in the 88th-minute would prove to be the game-winner.
