Zeiko Harris and his Appalachian State Men's Soccer teammates recorded its first win of the season, taking down back-to-back regular season Patriot League champion Loyola Maryland 2 - 1. Kelan Swales and Nick Rogers scored their first goals in an Appalachian State uniform to clinch the victory.
Harris and Appalachian State are now 1-1 on the season. Loyola Maryland falls to 0-2.
The second half was the deciding factor for Appalachian State, scoring both goals a minute apart in the 48th and 49th minute to start the second half. Loyola Maryland scored just three minutes later in the 52nd, but Appalachian State were able to shut down Loyola Maryland's offense the rest of the half to seal the victory.
