Following the United States’ 2-0 win over Canada in the 2016 CONCACAF U-15 Girls’ Championship (CU15G) Final on at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the Technical Study Group announced the tournament’s Best XI and presented awards.
The CU15G selection contains players from each of the four Semi-Finalists, six players from the champions United States, three from runner-up Canada, as well as one each from Costa Rica and Mexico.
Unfortunately, none of the Bermuda Girls who turned heads during the tournament on the way to winning their Group did not make the list.
The Bermuda team returned home last week to a hero’s welcome and an apology from a local media outlet, who came under fire for headlines in an article about the teams defeat to the eventual champions United States.
That same media source who was hit from pillar to post with comments about Bermuda’s youth decided to hit back with headlines unbecoming but not unexpected following weekend local sports. 2016 CONCACAF Under-15 Women’s Championship Best XI
