The Bermuda Futsal Federation’s (BFF) Women’s Futsal League Season came to an end inside the Bermuda College Gymnasium recently with Dandy Stars clinching the league title by defeating the Somerset Hurricanes 6 – 3.
This was a hard fought game for Dandy Stars as the Somerset Hurricanes battled them all the way. In the first half, Dandy Stars jumped out to an early lead, but the Somerset Hurricanes kept pace and at half-time Dandy Stars led 4 - 3.
With the momentum on their side, it looked like the Somerset Hurricanes would pull off the upset, but Dandy Stars showed their strength and scored 2 more goals, with the Somerset Hurricanes unable to reply. Shonte Campbell was outstanding in goal for Dandy Stars and Sierra Fisher was outstanding in defense for the Somerset Hurricanes.
At the end of the game, the League Cup was presented to the winning Dandy Stars team and the following awards were handed out:
Leading Scorer - Shauntae Todd from Dandy Stars with 24 goals, Most Outstanding Goal Keeper - Sayanna Fisher from Somerset Hurricanes and League MVP - Symira Lowe-Darrell from the PHC Lady Zebras.
