 Goals from Tevahn Tyrell and David Jones Jr. earned Ilkeston Football Club’s Under 21’s H-K-L North Midlands Development Football League Cup Quarter-Final date with Belper Town U21 at the NMG on Monday 21 March.
Ilkeston defeated Staveley Miners Welfare FC Under 21’s after extra time 3 – 2. Three Bermuda players were in the Ilkeston team for the Cup tie, Jahquille Hill was in goal, Jones Jr. started and Tyrell came off the bench.
Ilkeston took the lead in the 17th minute when Roy Lee scored, but Staveley equalized in the 85th minute. Two minutes into the Extra Time period Staveley took the lead, but Tyrell who came on in the 90th minute drew Ilkeston level eight minutes later.
Just when it appeared that the teams would need to go to kicks from the penalty mark Jones fired home from close range to earn Ilkeston the 3 – 2 win.
