In the wake of the FIFA Arrest Fall Out Hits CONCACAF Under-15 Boys Championship, with Cayman Islands Minister of Sports Osbourne Bodden has expressed disappointment at the cancellation, labeling the move a setback. The tournament, which was expected to include some 37 teams from four confederations including Bermuda, has been put off in the wake of the arrest of former Cayman president Jeffrey Webb, who has been mentioned as a key figure of interest in the ongoing FIFA scandal. Now comes news that the CFU Women’s Under 20 World Cup Qualifying Tournament which was set to take place in the Dominican Republic has now been postponed.
The Tournament which would have seen the Bermuda team depart on Saturday June 13, has now been pushed back to July.
It is unknown if at all these changes would affect Bermuda’s chances of advancing, however we will await the Bermuda Football Association statement regarding this Tournament and the Under 15’s
