The Mansfield team that now features Reggie Lambe also houses another Bermudian Youngster David Jones in their youth team that continued their recent good form as they thumped Coalville Town, 8-0, in the Football Conference Youth Alliance (Midland Division).

Seven different players were on the score-sheet in the rout of the bottom-of-the-table club, who have now shipped 24 goals in their first three matches this term.

It was Mansfield’s aerial prowess that totally destroyed the hosts as an incredible six of our eight goals were headers.

Mansfield will take confidence from such a ruthless display in front of goal, heading into their next match at York City in the Football League Youth Alliance.

On a gloriously warm afternoon in Leicestershire, it was centre-back Elliot Holmes that got the party started as he opened the scoring with a well-placed header after 20 minutes.

Anthony Dwyer doubled the advantage as he converted from close-range following a left-wing cross by Conor Green, before centre-back Holmes netted again to put Mansfield 3-0 up at the break.

Mansfield were eager to build on their lead after the re-start and Holmes had a shot tipped over when he broke forward in search of a hat-trick, whilst Fletcher was twice denied in one-on-one situations.

Nevertheless, the goals continued to flow and after Fletcher made it 4-0 on 55 minutes, Kyle Hempshall headed in a fifth goal prior to the hour mark.

With Coalville tiring with each passing minute, Mansfield continued to create openings and midfielder Tyler Blake was next to get on the score-sheet with a well-taken shot in a one-on-one on 73 minutes.

Substitute Jack Koczalski continued his very impressive start to the season to make it 7-0, before Jones completed the scoring with a stoppage-time header.

Youth Coach Darren Kelk said, "The lads have been working on set-pieces and attacking from wide areas, which has seen us score seven headed goals from either a set-piece or open play.

"We've been actively working on technique and the transition of play in the second to final third, which allowed us to create many openings during the game."
