PHC Zebras 4 BAA 2

The first Premier Development League Festival Cup Semi-Final saw the PHC Zebras book a place in the Final for New Year’s Day, but they did not have it their own way. The PHC Zebras held a 4 – 0 lead, but BAA staged a comeback before falling short. Marco Warren gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 40th minute which was the only goal of the first half. Ryan Hassell doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, seven minutes later Hassell scored his second goal of the game and gave the PHC Zebras a 3 – 0 lead and when Warren scored his second goal of the game in the 62nd minute he extended the PHC Zebras lead to 4 – 0 with 28 minutes to play. Jalen Harvey pulled a goal back for BAA in the 73rd minute when he beat his defender and pushed the ball pass an advancing PHC Zebras goalkeeper Treaz Place. Place was beaten again five minutes later when he could not prevent a Harvey shot from going in setting up a tense final 12 minutes that saw the PHC Zebras reduced to 10 men when substitute Dupray Joell was sent off, but they were able to hang on for the 4 – 2 victory.

Tre Manders ahead with this shot
In the second Semi-Final, kicks from the penalty mark would decide the winner after the Dandy Town Hornets and X’Road’s ended regulation time locked at 1 – 1. Tre Manders capitalized on a defensive error to score from just inside the box in the 34th minute, X’Road’s drew level in the 80th minute when Tristan Daniels found the back of the net, neither team could beat the opposing goalkeeper in the remaining 10 minutes and when referee Tracey Adams blew the regulation final whistle the match was sent to kicks.

In the Kicks from the penalty mark all five Dandy Town Hornets players found the back of the net, while the first four kickers from X’Road’s all scored, however the fifth and final kick missed the entire goal allowing the Dandy Town Hornets to set up a Final showdown with the PHC Zebras.

Wolves Out of PDL Semi-Final

The Bermuda Football Association has announced that Wolves have been replaced in tonight’s Premier Development League Festival Cup Semi-Final after playing too many over-aged players in their Quarter-Final match against BAA.

Wolves have been removed and replaced with BAA.

Therefore BAA will face the PHC Zebras at the BAA Field beginning at 6:45pm in the first Semi-Final and then X’Road’s will face the Dandy Town Hornets at 9:15pm in the other Semi-Final.

The winners are expected to play at noon New Year’s Day at the National Sports Center.
