Teachers player, Padraic O’Shaughnessy and his Maastricht Rugby teammates are making progress in the Dutch Rugby Second Division.
With the weather is getting a lot colder in the Netherlands the conditions have been challenging but O’Shaughnessy and his multi-national squad has improved as the season progressed.
In their last match they won the battle for second place in the Division with opponents Tooval, from Goes, with a surprising 64-0 win.
Nelson von Rosmalen was their star with the flanker scoring four Try’s, while O’Shaughnessy contributing with a Try himself.
The game against Tooval was featured in the local newspaper in the Netherlands, with O’Shaughnessy scoring a Try.
Maastricht are newly promoted this year and with some new blood and a stable squad they are playing a good brand of Rugby.
O’Shaughnessy is looking forward to getting back to the warmer climate of Bermuda to play in the Stephen Edwards Memorial game in Bermuda on December 23rd.
