Rugby Americas North (RAN) has confirmed the countries and teams participating in the 2023 Rugby Americas North Sevens August 19-20, 2023. RAN countries that are full or associate World Rugby members including Bermuda are eligible to compete in this event. Hosted in conjunction with Rugby Canada, the 15 teams will compete at the 4,000-person Starlight Stadium in Langford, British Columbia.
Men’s Competition
Despite two more rounds left in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2023, both Canada and USA are mathematically out of contention to automatically qualify for Paris 2024 through a top-four finish in the Series.
The North American sides will be joined by Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Mexico, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines to total nine teams competing for both qualification for Paris 2024 and World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series 2024. In the Men’s qualification event, the top-placed team will qualify for the Olympics and the 2nd and 3rd placed teams will go through to a final Qualification Tournament.

Women’s Competition With the USA Women successfully qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics through the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2023, host nation Canada will face off against Bermuda, Jamaica, Mexico, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines in a six-team, round-robin format with qualification for Paris 2024 and Sevens Challenger Series on the line.
