The latest round of the Bermuda Triathlon Association’s Tri-A-Tri Super Sprint Summer Series saw two Olympic swimmers Rebecca Heyliger and Julian Fetcher compete. After competing at the Summer Olympics in Rio the pair threw out a challenge to each other as they could not remember who won the battle when they last took part in the event.
Unsurprisingly they were first and second out the water, however their youth was no match for the evergreen Kent Richardson who passed them both on the Bike leg and then held on to his advantage with a solid run on a hot and humid night.
Richardson was able to put some distance between himself and the rest of the field coming across the line in 25.46 with David Soutter finishing second one minute and twenty-three second behind in 27.09. Fletcher finished third clocking 27.18, with Heyliger finishing as the top female and 4th overall clocking 27.31, Mark Viney rounded out the top five finishers stopping the clock at 28.02.
