The Argo Re Summer Super Sprint Series took place in hot and dry conditions, with a strong breeze making the cycle leg a real challenge at the Clearwater Beach in Southside.
A trio of South Africans showed they are used to the wind because they took first and third places. Byron Rencken took top spot crossing the line in a time of 26.12, overtaking Andrew Davies on the second lap of the run, Davies clocked 26.31 finishing second and Gerhard Boonstra came in third clocking 27.58, edging out Otis Ingham in fourth who crossed in 28.08.
Relative newcomer Alicia Hancock was the first lady home and 11th overall with a time of 29.38. Up-and-coming Jessie Marshall was 13th overall and the second Female finisher with a time of 30.30 and with Christine Soutter in third female finisher and 15th overall with a time of 32.09.
Seven year old Maria Ramirez -- supported by her Dad Armando -- deserves an honorable mention for her good effort in the shorter race.
