Bermuda’s Flora Duffy was among the Current World Champions, former World Champions, Olympic Medalists and National Champions who lined up for the 2015 Aramex songo.info Champions Race in Kayamandi, South Africa.
The race now in its fourth year has made changes as the first two years it was a race only for the professional male mountain bikers, but since last year a women’s race and kids race have been added to the programme.
Some of the big names saw Annika Langvad, Duffy, Ariane Kleinhans and locals Mariske Strauss and Cherie Vale will be battling it out in the women’s race.
World Champions Langvad won the women’s race, she said “Super cool race at the Aramex Champions Race in Kayamandi. Spectacular course through the township is for sure something that I’ll take home as a great memory. It was awesome to take the victory. My Cape Epic partner Kleinhans was dangerously strong but sadly lost her chain while we were in the lead. Legs and minds are ready for the Absa Cape Epic.”
Duffy finished outside the top five Women finishers.
