Erica Hawley competed in the Youth 15/16 High Performance Draft Legal Triathlon at Eton Dorney Lake in the UK finishing 5th with a time of 33.09.
Hawley fresh off a USAT Northeast Skills/Select Triathlon Camp in Boston, she was able to implement many of the things she learned at camp in the race at Dorney.
Hawley was out of the water 5th clocking 5:45, with the top 5 girls very close together. She formed part of a 4 pack group on the Bike that worked very well together to put as much distance as possible to anyone else behind them.
Hawley came in to transition from the bike in 2nd place overall after recording a time of 19.18, but knew the run would be difficult and lost a few places at the end of the run, going from 2nd to 5th after a time of 6.36 on the Run course.
