The 2024 ILCA Under 21 European Championships & Open European Trophy successfully concluded in Majorca, Spain, organized by Reial Club Nŕutic de Pollença.
The day started with a 2-hour postponement onshore due to a lack of wind. It was only at 12:15 that the Delta Flag could be hoisted and all three fleets were invited to go on water for a last race with a nice breeze varying from 8 to 13 knots.
Bermuda’s Sebastian Kemp competed in the Men’s ILCA 7 Championship, which provided an exhilarating spectacle today in the final race, with Enrico Tanferna from Italy and Ole Schweckendiek from Germany separated by just two points. Ole managed to cross the finish line ahead of Enrico, securing fourth place compared to Enrico’s fifth. However, this narrow margin meant that the Italian ultimately clinched the Gold Medal by just one point, with the Silver Medal going to the German.
Kempe continued to move up the leaderboard, finishing the regatta in 14th place finishing 22nd in the only race of the day, to finish with 171 Net Points.
