Davis Helps RHS Win UK Womens National Team Championship

Sarah Davis, age 15, was one of the helms for The Royal Hospital School (RHS) in the UK Women's National Team Racing Championship in the UK.

RHS entered two teams, among 14 teams from across the country, including esteemed institutions, clubs, and universities, each comprising six talented sailors.

Employing strategic and impeccable teamwork, they navigated their way through intense races, vying against formidable opponents from universities and sailing clubs.

On the first day of the championship, the RHS Grey team demonstrated exceptional performance, winning 9 out of 10 races and securing the top position in the rankings. Meanwhile, David and her RHS Blue teammates displayed commendable skill, winning 7 races and securing 5th position.

Advancing to the Gold League on the second day, both teams continued to exhibit outstanding sailing prowess. The Blue team, in particular, shone brightly, winning 5 out of 6 races and securing the 2nd position in the league standings.

In the Semi-Finals, the RHS Blue team showcased their resilience and determination, securing victory against Cambridge University with a 2 - 0 win. This remarkable feat propelled them to the Finals, where they faced off against Girls Afloat, the top team in the competition.

In an exhilarating final showdown, the RHS Blue team displayed remarkable teamwork and determination, winning a nail-biting deciding race to emerge victorious. Not only securing the Women's National Championship title but also showcasing their remarkable skill and character in the face of tough competition.
