Wollmann & Pimentel Hit the Water in Brazil

Day One proved to be a challenging one for Bermuda two Sailors Ceci Wollmann and Cameron Pimentel on the waters of Brazil.

After Two Races Wollmann is currently in 33rd place with 60 points, while Pimentel is in 39th with 76 points.

The Women’s Laser Radial First Race, Wollmann finished 32nd crossing the line in a time of 54.02, Wollmann rounded the first mark in 35th, she was then 36th around the 2nd – 4th marks, she over took two sailors before the 5th mark and then overtook two more sailors before crossing the line.

Wollmann recorded a better finish in the Second Race crossing the line 28th stopping the clock in a time of 54.25. Wollmann rounded the first mark in 34th, she was 33rd at the second mark, a drop of wind proved the trick for Wollmann as she rounded the third mark in 28th, she was 27th around the fourth mark before crossing the line 28th.

Pimentel crossed the Men’s laser First Race finish line 31st clocking a time of 54.04. Pimentel crossed the first marker in 38th, before falling to 42nd in the second race, the third leg was a strong one for Pimentel as he jumped up to 34th and he held that position at the fourth mark, Pimentel rounded the fifth mark in 32nd before crossing the line.

Pimentel clocked a time of 50.39 in the Second Race saw him finish 45th, Pimentel was 46th around the first mark, 45th around the second, a wind shift in his favor on the third leg saw Pimentel round the mark in 16th, but yet another wind shift on the fourth leg saw him on the wrong side of the course and he was 45th through the final markers.
