IslandStats.com
Day 5 of the Youth Sailing World Championships saw Ceci and Mikey Wollmann as well as the other Laser Radial Sailors return to the water of Langkawi following a lay day.

All classes and all sailors were welcomed by 15 -17 knots of easterly breeze which gusts to around 20 knots.

When the sailors came off the water Gold Medals were secured.

In a Fleet of 65 Boy’s the first Gold Medal of the Youth Worlds has gone to Australia as Alistair Young has won the Boy's Laser Radial.

With an uncatchable 21 points total, Young can go in to the final race safe in the knowledge that his work is done despite a bad day by his standards.

Mikey Wollmann continues to hold his own finding himself in 38th place with 236 Net Points. Mikey Wollmann recorded finishes of 45th in the Opening Race of the day and the seventh of the Regatta and 34th in the second race of the day.

In the girl's Laser Radial, Hungary's Maria Erdi started the Youth Worlds with the aim of getting top fives in all the races, so she will be disappointed when she finished 23rd in the first race of the day. Despite the setback, Erdi turn things around to take the win in the next and maintains her top position on 19 points.

Ceci Wollmann remained in 14th place overall in the field of 49 Women Laser Radial sailors, she recorded her second top ten finish when she crossed the line 6th in the first race of the day, which was followed by a 18th place finish in the second race, she comes off the water with 97 Net Points.
