The West End Sailboat Club hosted the Mathews Cup Comet Race in the Great Sound.
Four boats went to the start line, with Stephen Dickinson and his crew Heath Foggo sailing to victory on the day with four points, while Gladwin and Lorenzo Lambert finished second with 5 points and Rockal Evans and Christina Bernard finished third with 6 points.
The first race saw the Lamberts sail a strong race holding off a storming Dickinson to take the win, the second race saw Dickinson take command right from the start controlling the race to claim the win.
Evans claimed the victory in the third race, before Dickinson sailed to victory in the Final race of the day.

Lending Club 2 Record Attempt Underway
The 105-foot maxi-trimaran Lending Club 2 began their attempt to break the Newport to Bermuda Record. Ideal conditions of moderate breeze (15-20 knots) and a small swell allow the boat to reach top speed while maintaining control.
The Lending Club Sailing team of Co-skippers Renaud Laplanche (FRA/USA) and Ryan Breymaier (USA), who is also the Project Manager, Captain Jan Majer (USA), Navigator Boris Herrman (GER), Roland Jourdain (FRA), Jean-Baptiste Le Vaillant (FRA), Stanislas Delbarre (FRA) and Quin Bisset (NZL) who handles onboard media.
Current record holder is the 125-foot Playstation which in January 2000 covered the 635 mile course in 1d 14h 35m 53s.
