Duffy & Powell University Update

Yesterday we brought you Cameron Pimentel’s performance for the Roger Williams University Sailing team, today we bring you updates on two other Bermuda sailors representing Roger Williams.

Campbell Duffy competed in the Boston Harbor Invitational, while Haley Powell sailed in the Mrs. Hurst Bowl.

At the Boston Harbor Invitational Roger Williams had the best result in of the weekend finishing with a score of 123 for the regatta. In the A Division Joshua Gershuny competed in all eight races and the second spot in the boat was shared in part by Connor Needham who was in 1-4 races and Andrew Tamblyn finished competing in races 5-8. The three Roger Williams sailors earned spots in the top seven in four races, claiming seventh place with 65 points. The B Division, consisting of Duffy and Alex Miller, also picked up a seventh-place finish, earning 58 points off of four finishes in the top seven with a win in the final race.

Some of the Roger Williams sailors headed up north for Vermont to compete in the Mrs. Hurst Bowl, Eight races each were sailed between the two divisions, and Roger Williams were able to place 13th in the regatta. The A Division was sailed by Powell Bianca Rom, who accumulated 51 points and placed 4th in the division off of five top-seven finishes. The B Division saw Alexi Schwartzkopff and Emerald Epke take 18th in the division, earning 132 points for Roger Williams.
