Youth World Cup Qualifier |
Cayman Islands 0 Bermuda 0
Five minutes into Bermuda’s Under 20 National Teams Youth World Cup Qualifier Shane Hollis had a chance to put them ahead when he was sent in one on one with the Cayman Island goalkeeper but he missed the target.
An evenly balanced first half came to an end, with Bermuda come close to breaking the deadlock midway through the half, when Hollis saw his shot from close range come back off the upright. ..

Lightning Halts Hogges |
Real Maryland Monarchs 0 Bermuda Hogges 1
A goal from John Barry Nusum in the third minute has given the Hogges a 1 - 0 lead. Nusum beat Emilio Zelaya the Monarch goalkeeper with a shot from some 30 yards out. In the 19th minute the game has been suspended for lightning.

Islandstats.com Football Schedule |
Every year we go through the same thing, time ticks away and no schedule is produced until late. We have heard just about every reason why it can’t be produced early, but Islandstats.com would like to suggest that the following timeline be used by the BFA. I know posting this story will promote phone calls, but I will say when releasing information the words - THIS IS A PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE - could be stated.
One Month after the season ends a preliminary schedule is posted without dates just weeks.
Two Months after the season ends, as long as there are no change ..

Bermuda Go Down to Jamaica |
Bermuda‘s final game of the VIII Caribbean Region Little League Championship Tournament against the Jamaica saw them go down 7 - 6.
Yari Ming had a sensational outing pitching, while David Jones showed some exceptional speed running the bases and Zach Stecko hit for a triple.
Kevin Lohan said, “The game was a nail biter and could have gone either way with Jamaica triumphing in the end. Both sides played their hearts out, with Jamaica earning their first win in the tournament in their third year at the tournament“.

Summer League Basketball Round Up |
The Summer League Basketball at is going on at the Bermuda College, the Killa Bees defeated Bermuda College 54 - 34. Dell Butterfield scored 20 points to lead the BeesCichi Clark scored 10 for the College. Butterfield grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bees, while Donald Faulkart collecting 7 for the College.
Death Valley got by the Hood Legends 42 - 34. The high scorer for Death Valley was Arion Mapp with 18 points, while Jordan Knight grabbed 7 rebounds. Hood Legends ..

The Pacers and Flyers competed in the 2008 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational that was hosted by Durham StridersTrack Club at the Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

More BCB Players Full Time |
The Bermuda Cricket Board have confirmed that the following players OJ Pitcher, Dwayne Leverock, Chris Foggo, George O’Brien and Oronde Bascome are now training full time with the Cricket Board.
www.islandstats.com asked the Board to confirm if the players had been contracted by the Bermuda Cricket Board after seeing the players at Training at the Sports Center.
Pitcher is contracted until mid-August when he will then return to college. Bascome and Leverock are on representative leave granted by employer, while Foggo and O’Brie ..

Youth & Sport Mini Cup Match |
The Department of Youth & Sports will hold their 13th Annual Mini Cup Match Classic on July 24th at the Devonshire recreation Club.
Holders St. George’s have won the competition 9 times.
Director of Youth & Sport’s Norbert Simons said, “The Department takes great pride in this event as it has seen players go on to represent Bermuda and play Cup Match, so it’s a stepping stone for the development of players”.
“Over the years the games have seen the likes of Sheroy Fubler, Rodney Trott, Oronde Bascome, Steven Bremar, Lamar Richardson and Deunte Darr ..

BFA Release 4th Quarter Numbers |
The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) provided the media with their 4th quarter Installment report, for you the public to know and understand how they are operating.
The report highlights Derek Broadley’s employment to the Association as Technical Director as of April 1st 2008, also the launch of the BFA Website, and the employment of Ian Rawlins as the Programme Developer and Coordinator.

ISL 2008 League Season Stats |
The Regular ISL Season is now over, with the Union and Storm winning their Divisions.
Last year the Arsenal and the Titans missed the play-offs, this year will see defending champions Knights and Arsenal missing out.
There was a total of 210 goals scored.
The Storm scored 32 league goals the most goals in both Divisions, while Arsenal conceded 36 goals.
Without a league win in 2008 Arsenal showed they did not give up as they took a total of 104 shots.
Antoine Russell found the net 16 times ..
