Four Medals Won on Carifta Swimming Championships Day 1

Bermuda would win four Medals on the opening night of competition during the CARIFTA Swimming Age Group Championships at the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatic Center in the Bahamas.

Connor Hupman won the 13-14 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Gold medal touching the wall in a time of 28.33, while Rory Shepard won the Bronze Medal during the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke clocking 32.18.

Madelyn Moore would win the Girls 18 & Over 50m Backstroke Gold Medal clocking a time of 29.53, with Logan Watson-Brown second in 30.01.

Dominic Wright finished 7th during the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Final.

Adriana Argent finished second in the 15-17 Girls 800m Freestyle clocking a Silver medal time of 10:19.37

Scarlett Spurling finished 4th competing in the 11-12 Girls 200m Breaststroke Preliminaries with a time of 3:11.64, while Rhys Insley finished 7th competing in the 15-17 Boy’s 200m Breaststroke Preliminaries clocking 2:35.12.

With a time of 36.98 saw Spurling finish 14th competing in the 11-12 Girls 50m Backstroke Preliminaries, while Shepard finished 3rd in the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Preliminaries clocking 32.68, Wright was 7th clocking 34.40.

Moore would win the Girls 18 & Over 50m Backstroke Preliminaries clocking a time of 29.68, with Watson-Brown second in 29.94.

Marleigh Howes finished 8th in the 15-17 Girls 100m Butterfly Preliminaries with a time of 1:07.16.
