Bermuda Four All Reach Finals in Canada

Four young girls from the Bermuda National Swim team were selected to represent the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association at the 2nd annual WAC Spring Invitational Swim Meet in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Taylor White, Gabby Pitman, Holly Bruton and Skyler Powell all took part in Day One of the Three Day Meet.

In timed Finals, in the 11 Year Old Age Group, White took the Gold Medal in the 200m Freestyle with a time of 2:32.92. She backed that up with a pair of Silver Medals, touching the wall in 10:59.07 in the 800m Freestyle, along with a36.75 in the 50m Butterfly.

Powell, competing in the 13 Year Old Age Group, swam to a Gold Medal in the 800m Freestyle with time of 10:04.74. She has also advanced to the Finals of the 200m Freestyle, as the third seed, finishing in a time of 2:24.57.

Pitman, also competing in the 13 Year Old Age Group, dropped nearly 6 seconds in the 50m Butterfly with a great effort of 34.50 to make finals. She backed that up with another great swim in the 200m Freestyle in a time of 2:31.18, which earned her another final.

The final competitor in the 13 Year Old Age Group is Bruton, she had three swims in the preliminaries and successfully advanced to Finals in the 200m Backstroke clocking 2:46.24, in the 100m Breaststroke she clocked 1:33.31 and in the 200m Freestyle she recorded a time of 2:33.42.

The meet has attracted 456 swimmers, representing 15 clubs from across the province of Ontario.
