The 2014 Validus Bermuda National Swimming Championships got underway at the National Sports Center’s 50m Pool.
Ashley Irby won the Girls 12 & Under 400m Freestyle with a time of 4:59.20, while Emma Harvey finished second clocking 5:02.32 and Skyler Powell finished third with a time of 5:25.13.
Ethan Daley clocked a Personal Best time of 4:58.19 on his way to winning the Boys 12 & Under 400m Freestyle, Nicholas Brando took 43 seconds off his Personal Best time on his way to finishing second with a time of 5:00.97 and Jude Moseley finished third clocking 5:09.75.
Irby then won the Girls 12 & Under 800m Freestyle with a time of 10:22.63, Powell finished second with a time of 11:10.64.
During the Girls 13 & Over 800m race, Chloe Mazurek from Swim Atlanta touched the wall first in a time of 10:06.40, while Shannon Hassell finished second with a time of 10:22.63 and Sophie Froud finished third with a time of 10:49.47.
Madelyn Moore was clocked at 27.27 during the Mixed 50m Freestyle Qualifying Time Trial, while Rebecca Heyliger clocked a Personal Best time of 28.87 in the Mixed 50m Butterfly Qualifying Time Trial.
