More than 60 athletes from 21 National Federations including Bermuda have descended on Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the first Olympic Qualification event since the Covid-19 outbreak – the World Rowing Americas Olympic & Paralympic Qualification Regatta.
Bermuda Olympic hopeful Dara Alizadeh competed in the first race of the Qualifiers which was the M1X Men Senior Class, Alizadeh finished 3rd stopping the clock in a time of 7:36.40, which sent him to the Repêchage 1 race.
Alizadeh would cross the line in the Repêchage 1 race second with a time of 7:50.81.
Alizadeh advanced to the M1X Men Senior Semi-Final AB 1st Race, with 1st to 3rd to advance to the A Final, while the remaining rows will compete in the B Final.
