www.islandstats.com will be running a feature on the athletes selected to represent Bermuda during the upcoming Youth Commonwealth Games, today we begin with Track & Field athlete Deneo Brangman.

Name: Deneo Brangman

Date of Birth: October 17, 2000

Sport: Track & Field

Q. What is something many people don’t know about you?

A.
That I actually want to become a Game designer instead of a professional Athlete.

Q. How did you first get involved in your Sport?

A.
My Coach at school asked me to go train with this Coach named Devon Bean because she thinks I have the potential to be a great athlete.

Q. Did you have a particular Sports idol?

A.
Wayde Van Niekerk

Q. When did you realize that you wanted Compete Internationally?

A.
When I started running the same times as my competition. With the times I was running I knew I wouldn’t be left behind.

Q. What do you feel needs the most improvement?

A.
I need to improve my start and have more confidence in myself in that I’m just as good as the competition.

Q. Which do you feel needs the least improvement?

A.
My finishing Kick needs the least improvement. It’s helped me run countless personal bests.

Q. What one moment in your Sport to date are you most proud of?

A.
I am most proud of the first time I ran under 50 seconds.

Q. What are your goals for the rest of Year?

A.
My goals for the rest of the year are to run under the Under 20 Carifta Qualifying Time of 48.50 by the end of this year.

Q. Can you give an insight into an average week of training for you?

A.
I train Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday’s where Monday and Tuesday I focus on Speed work and Thursdays are my quarter miler training sessions that are much more strenuous

Q. Is this your first Youth Commonwealth Games?

A.
This will be my first Commonwealth Games.

Q. What do you do when you’re not taking part in your Sport?

A.
I relax and hang out with my friends.
