West Ham United To Open Talks Over Trott Deal

IslandStats.com
West Ham United will hold talks with back-up goalkeeper Nathan Trott over whether they will offer him a new deal, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Hammers are yet to make a final decision on Trott, 25, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign.

The shot-stopper has performed well during his second season-long loan spell with Danish side Vejle.

He has started all league games this season for the relegation-threatened side, managing five clean sheets.

Trott signed a two-year extension with the London club in June 2022 which included the option to extend his stay for a further two seasons.

Despite joining West Ham united Academy in 2016, Trott has made just one senior appearance for them – a substitute outing in January 2021 in their FA Cup win against Doncaster Rovers.

While on loan at Vejle last season, he helped them earn promotion back to the Danish Superliga as champions of the second tier.

Previously, he earned experience with loan spells to AFC Wimbledon in 2019 and French side Nancy in 2021.

He has not spent a full season with West Ham since the 2020-21 season, where he made the matchday squad in the Premier League 10 times.

David Moyes’ side have multiple stars who are currently sent to depart this summer, with the likes of Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson and Michail Antonio in the final six months of their deals.
