Earlier today www.islandstats.com received several emails regarding a message that was circulating stating persons needed tickets to enter the FA Challenge Cup Semi-Finals, as there would be no cash taken at the gate.
Later in the day an email was sent out to the media in hope of them getting the message out to the wider public of the BFA’s stance for the Cup Semi-Finals.
www.islandstats.com decided not to post the release as we felt as if we were now being used to get important information out at the last minute, however, we sent President Mark Wade questions regarding how the information was disseminated. as the BFA has been using social media more, leaving out those who have supported for years and don’t use social media.
A response from the Bermuda Football Association stated, “During the Shield and Friendship Cup, the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) announced that it was moving to online tickets only for future Cup Competitions.
This initiative was started with the inclusion of online tickets for the Semi-Final and Final rounds of the Shield and Friendship Cup.
As the FA Cup rounds began in January, communications from the BFA included a reminder to our audience that online tickets would be the only option for the Semi-Final and Final rounds of this cup competition.
We acknowledge that the reminder sent on March 5, 2024, may have caught some off guard as the previous ticketing process allowed for cash sales at the gate.
• Please be reminded that tickets can still be purchased while at the gate; however, you will need to purchase them via GPass.bm
The BFA appreciates that this change means that a number of Bermuda football fans will have to adapt to a new process in order to attend and support their Clubs.
