Kenni Thompson and her Civitas Santa Teresa Badajoz teammates visited Lezama on Sunday to face Athletic Club in the 25th round of Primera Iberdrola.
In the 8th minute, a foul was committed in the box by a Civitas Santa defender resulting in a penalty, with Vanesa Gimbert converting to give the host the lead.
Thompson and her teammates tried to respond with high pressure and long balls to their offensive players, but without linking danger plays.
Civitas Santa came out strong in the second half, and in the 49th minute, they got the equalizer. Nayadet López had a header come back off the crossbar, with Nerea Pérez scoring the rebound to make the 1 - 1.
In the 78th minute, the home team was once again in the lead, with Gimbert scoring a header that proved to be the winner.
