Wells Rejects New Huddersfield Contract

IslandStats.com
The Telegraph are reporting that Huddersfield Town are facing the prospect of losing Nahki Wells in January after the striker rejected a new contract.

David Wagner's Championship high-fliers will demand £8 million for Wells, who is understood to have turned down the chance of becoming the club's top earner.

Norwich and Fulham are two clubs likely to pursue the 26-year-old when the transfer window opens in the New Year.

Bermuda International Wells, was also a target for Aston Villa in the summer but it is believed their interest has waned after the £15 million arrival of Jonathan Kodjia.

Huddersfield are in the play-off places after an impressive start to the season under Wagner, though they have only one victory from the last six games.

And the potential sale of Wells, last season's top scorer with 18 goals, will deal a major blow to Wagner's hopes of keeping the club in the top six.

Wells was signed from Bradford for a then club record fee of £1.5 million in January 2014.
