The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) have released a statement following the shooting incident at the BAA Field at the conclusion of the First Division match between BAA and Ireland Rangers.
The statement from the Bermuda Football Association President Larry Mussenden states, “The BFA deplores the incident last evening and encourages anyone with information to contact the authorities. We will work with our affiliates and the BPS in every way on this matter.
The BFA organizes hundreds of matches every year for thousands of players and fans at over a dozen locations, in a wonderful sporting environment without incident.
We urge parents, families and community leaders to get very involved in the lives of our young people so they can make the best decisions and to steer them away from anti-social conduct.
We trust that people will continue to attend games as this incident does not seem to be related to football. This kind of incident doesn't belong at a sporting event or in the Bermuda community where people could be harmed or affected. Let's work towards peace and love.”
