Leverock & Hall's Teams Win Big

IslandStats.com
Dante Leverock

Craig Foster racked up a hat trick in less than 20 minutes As Dante Leverock and his Harrisburg City Islanders recorded a 6-0 drubbing of FC Montreal in Clipper Magazine stadium in front of 4,741 fans.

Foster’s three goals all came in the second half after the Islanders ended the first half up 3-0. Jose Barril, who had three assists, got Foster going with a searing service that gave him the pace to place it home. His next two goals put the cap on the Islanders most dominant win of the year.

Enric Valles got the scoring rolling in the eighth minute with a quick passage of play that involved a great service from Barril. Valles second goal of the season slid right under Yannick Fillian’s hands.

After taking the lead the Islanders didn’t wait long to give themselves a little bit of breathing room with Jason Plumhoff’s first goal of the evening. Barril laid out a perfect ball that gave Plumhoff room to make a cut inside and direct a low hard ball into the back of the net.

The third goal of the half came from Plumhoff yet again. Plumhoff’s second goal of the night came right before the half. He collected a ball at his feet and cut past the Montreal goalie to deposit his seventh goal of the season into an open net.

City took no time at all to keep control of the game once the second half was underway. Foster scored the first of his three goals just two minutes in off another quality Barril service.

Foster’s needed no help when he took on two Montreal defenders and then Fillian to hammer home his second goal of the night and he wasn’t done.

The final goal of the first Islander hat trick this year came after Andrew Lubahn stole a pass from the goalie. Lubahn sent a pass to Foster who was streaking to net the final goal of the 6-0 victory.

Noble’s effort to keep a clean sheet is something that could get lost in all of the scoring. He didn’t face a lot of shots, but he had to make some reaction saves on some quick hard shots from all angles.

Freddy Hall

A scintillating first-half display from Freddy Hall and his Limerick teammates saw them record their fourth win in five away to relegation-threatened Drogheda United 4 - 1 as they continue to fight for their Premier Division survival.

Things couldn’t have started any better for Martin Russell’s side as they were 3-0 up within 13 minutes. Vinny Faherty opened the scoring on five minutes with an unstoppable header. Then Ian Turner converted what was a contentious penalty.

Three minutes later Turner turned provider as he crossed and Darragh Rainsford timed his run to meet the ball and flick a headed shot into the top corner.

The hosts pulled one back through Tiarnan Mulvenna before Robbie Williams got Limerick’s fourth, all inside the first 40 minutes.
