Tyler Smith is still reflecting on his performance on Sunday claiming his first National Road Race Open Men’s title.
Smith posting on social media, “Bermuda isn’t the biggest country, but we have some strong riders, so to take the National Championships is a huge honor. Even better to do it in a 1-2 with my Winners Edge team mate Kaden Hopkins, we’ve been at it a long time together.
Been a tough year for everyone obviously so it’s also great to return to something that feels normal.
I was off the bike for 3 months this winter recovering from a foot surgery. A lot of the time you question whether sitting on an arm crank staring at a screen listening to a generic gym playlist is worth it, but moments like these always reaffirm trust in the process and the necessity of patience.”
