Bermuda Tokio Criterium around Victoria Park Round Up

Winners Edge Riders showed strength as they won 4 of the 7 categories during the Bermuda Bicycle Association’s Tokio Criterium around Victoria Park.

Matthew Oliviera from Winners Edge took the Adult A Division by storm, Oliviera wasted very little time in putting some distance between himself and the field, he eventually lapped the entire field recording a winning time of 48:05.4, his teammate Darren Glasford finished second in a sprint finish clocking 49:04.8 and Kwame Curling from Madison Digicel finished third in 49:05.6.

Winners Edge rider Ricky Smith won the Adult B Division Class by 0.06 of a second ahead of Bicycle Works rider McQuinn Burch. Smith clocked 40:13.30, with Burch clocking 40:13.36, Sean Dickinson finished third with a time of 40:13.7.

Paulo Medeiros from Winners Edge won the Adult C Division clocking a time of 29:08.1, with BCA rider Ben Edwards finishing second in 29:09.82 and Ziani Burgesson from Tokio finished third in 29:09.84.

A sprint finish in the Women’s Division saw Madison Digicel rider Sarah Bonnett win the race clocking a time of 30:15.0, Karen Smith from Winners Edge finished second in 30:15.1 and Bicycle Works rider Wenda Roberts finished third in 30:26.9.

Midfits riders finished first, second and third in the Women’s Novice Division, Louise Wells clocked 11:22.9, with Cora Lee Starzomski finishing second in 11:25.5 and Francis Betts finished third in 12:03.2.

Caleb Ingham representing Tokio won the Junior A race with a time of 20:23.2, Liam Flannery finished second in 20:32.4 and Alexander Southern finished third in 20:42.0, while Blake Oliviera from Winners Edge won the Junior B Division recording a time of 14:36.3, Nicholas Narraway was second in 15:17.2 and Manning Smith was third in 15:22.3.
