The final series race of the Bermuda Bicycle Association’s 2014 Road Race season was held at the Motor Sports Park in Southside.
With no printing press bothering to show up to the race organized by the Madison Digicel team, the technical course proved the undoing of some while giving others an advantage.
Matthew Oliviera rode to victory in the B Division after he and Daren Dowling slipped off the front of the group and stayed away for the remainder. Oliviera jumped around Dowling just after the start/finish line and was able to stay ahead in the turns of the circuit crossing the line in a time of 30:49.863.
In the A Division race Darren Glasford used a similar move on the final lap to break away from Dominique Mayho, Shannon Lawrence and Mark Hatherley, Glasford clocked 41:01.052.
Rajul Mathhie-Shakir clocked 25:36.930 on his way to winning the C Division race with series leader Sean Dickinson just behind him in a furious sprint that was just short of what was needed to beat the teenager.
Other category winners were Karen Bordage (Women), Jordan Dowling (Junior A), Malik Joell (Junior B) and Alexander Southern (Junior C).
