Shannon Lawrence IslandStats.com The Bermuda Bicycle Association (BBA) has chosen eight athletes to represent Bermuda in the road cycling events in the 2013 NatWest Island Games this July. With the teams restricted at a maximum of five men and three women by the IGA Cycling rules, the BBA’s selectors made their assessment and recommendation to the association’s executive committee from a field of six women and 15 men candidates.
The Men’s team will be comprised of Geri Mewett, Dominique Mayho, Shannon Lawrence, Johan Vivier and Darren Glasford while the Women’s team is made up of Nicole Mitchel, Karen Bordage and Earlena Ingham.
All competitors will participate in the three road race events; a road race on Sunday, July 14th, a time trial on Tuesday, July 16th and the finale will be a criterium in Hamilton on the evening of Thursday, July 18th.
