Sakari Famous was crowned the 2024 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Women’s High jump Champion.
Senior Famous representing McNeese State University defended her championship with a top leap of 1.80m or 5 feet 10.75 inches.
In addition, Famous and her Women’s teammates had a solid day finishing third in the team scoring 106 points behind Northwestern State (170) and Lamar (113). It's just the second time in school history McNeese Women clipped the 100-points scored mark with the other being the 156 scored in 2022 when capturing the championships.
