Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates bowed out of the Emirates FA Challenge Cup following their 5 – 3 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the replay on Kicks from the Penalty Mark.
As the two teams did in the first match they finished level at 1 – 1, this time Nottingham Forest scored first as Divock Origi found the back of the net in the 8th minute, but Bristol City drew level at 1 – 1 in the 14th minute when Jason Knight scored.
Wells was introduced to the match in the 75th minute replacing Tommy Conway, Wells was unable to find the net during regulation nor extra-time as the match had to be decided by Kicks from the Penalty Mark.
With Nottingham Forest up 3 – 1 in the kicks, Wells converted the penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner to make it 3 – 2, however, Nottingham Forest would convert all five of their spot kicks to advance.
