Bermuda Archers Hold Steady Against Elite Field in San Salvador

IslandStats.com
Bermuda’s Recurve Men’s Archery team produced a resilient showing at the San Salvador 2026 Grand Prix of the Americas, securing a respectable mid-table finish in a highly competitive international arena.

The trio of Camerin Pickering, Jaydon Roberts, and Bernard Wade III represented the island in El Salvador, going head-to-head with ten established teams from across the region. In a sport defined by millimetre-thin margins and mental fortitude, the Bermudian contingent demonstrated that they could hold their own against the heavyweights of the Americas.

Camerin Pickering led the individual charge for the squad, delivering a composed performance to finish 12th overall. His impressive score of 642 anchored the team and kept him well within the mix of the elite qualifiers. Jaydon Roberts followed with a score of 617, earning him 21st position on the individual leaderboard, while Bernard Wade III rounded out the effort with a score of 568 to finish in 29th place.

For the team round their combined scores from the individual round also set their position going into the eliminations were they went up against Panama winning 6 - 0, they were then eliminated by Colombia 6 - 2.

The top six teams then competed for the final three team spots for the CAC Games. Bermuda made it through to the Bronze Medal match and finished in 4th place with Puerto Rico taking the Bronze.

The experience gained in San Salvador will be vital as the archers turn their attention toward the next phase of the 2026 international circuit. With Pickering and Roberts consistently hitting high marks, the foundation is clearly in place for Bermuda to continue its upward trajectory in the recurve division.
