Pickering Hits PB as Archery League Intensity Climbs

IslandStats.com
The National Archery Association of Bermuda’s bi-weekly indoor league continued to produce high-caliber performances as athletes gathered inside the St. George’s Community Center Gymnasium. Archers took to the line for the standard eighteen-meter indoor shoot, a discipline that demands absolute focus and technical consistency over the course of sixty arrows for a maximum possible score of six hundred.

The headline performance of the second round came in the Recurve Men’s division, where Camerin Pickering reached a significant milestone. Pickering delivered a masterclass in precision to record a new personal best of five hundred and sixty-four out of a possible six hundred, further cementing his position as one of the island’s elite marksmen. His score set a formidable benchmark for the rest of the field as the league standings begin to take shape.

In the women's categories, the competition remained equally fierce. Robin Selley continued her strong early-season form to lead the Recurve Women’s division, while Jessica Bowers emerged as the standout performer in the Barebow Women's category. The compound division also saw consistent scoring, with William Pickering claiming the top spot among the Men to ensure a successful day for the Pickering family.

The league’s commitment to youth development was on full display as several rising stars dominated their respective age groups. Sophia Davidge led the way for the Under 17 Recurve Girls, while Braeden Fraser took the honors in the Under 17 Recurve Boys division. In the Barebow category, George Esterhuysen proved the most consistent among the Under 17 Boys, and Naseeha Talbot rounded out a successful day of youth shooting by securing the top position in the Under 17 Girls Compound division.
