The 2026 Lancaster Archery Classic in Pennsylvania has provided a record-breaking platform for Bermuda’s budding archers as Braeden and Jamie Fraser both secured new personal milestones on the international stage. Competing against an elite global field, the pair demonstrated the growing strength of the sport on the island with performances that highlighted both technical precision and remarkable consistency.
Thirteen-year-old Braeden Fraser made his second appearance at the tournament in the Recurve Cub Male division, producing a performance that saw him rise toward the very top of the youth rankings. He recorded a significant new personal best of 499 points, finishing the competition in an impressive tenth place overall. The score was a bittersweet milestone for the young athlete, leaving him just a single point shy of the prestigious 500-point mark, which is widely regarded as the elite standard for his age category.
In the Men’s Olympic Recurve Division, Jamie Fraser matched the day's trend of local success by also setting a fresh individual benchmark. He navigated the high-pressure environment to post a personal best score of 473, a result that underscores his steady development within the senior ranks. The score placed him 97th in a massive field of international competitors, reinforcing the value of the rigorous preparation undertaken leading up to the event.
The Frasers' success is a testament to the collaborative coaching network currently fostering talent in Bermuda. The pair split their training between Gold Point Archery in St. David’s and the National Association of Archery in Bermuda. Their development has been further bolstered by the expertise of veteran coach David Semos in Paget, whose long-standing dedication to the sport continues to bear fruit on the world stage. Following these standout performances, the local archery community now looks ahead to a busy domestic season with high expectations for its rising stars.
