The Houston Red Storm are proud to announce the hiring of franchise legend and Hall of Famer Terence Dill as the team's new head coach. Dill, a true professional and leader who played for the organization from 2017 to 2021, returns to the Red Storm to lead the team from the sidelines.
The move marks a new chapter for the franchise, bringing a player with an intimate understanding of the team's winning culture to the head coaching role. Dill was recently inducted into the Houston Red Storm Hall of Fame, a testament to his lasting impact both on and off the court.
"Bringing Terence back to lead this team was an easy decision," said owner Mr. Larry Leonard. "His character, knowledge of the game, and commitment to the organization are second to none. He understands our culture and what it takes to win. We couldn't be more excited to have a man of his caliber at the helm."
The players also shared their excitement about being coached by a former teammate and celebrated leader.
"It's a huge honor to play for a guy like Terence Dill," said team captain Dylan Spriggins. "He's a Hall of Famer for a reason, and his professionalism and basketball IQ are going to take us to the next level."
Gabriel Drayton, also a veteran leader, added, "It's a blessing to be coached by someone who has been in our shoes. He knows the game from a player's perspective and will be a great mentor for all of us."
Veteran leader Eric Boyd, who met Dill at the recent inaugural Gala, also weighed in. "I'm extremely proud to see a fellow Hall of Famer take on this role. The conversation we shared showed me he is ready for this challenge. I can't wait to watch him lead this team back to a championship."
The Houston Red Storm will begin its 19th season under Coach Dill's leadership on October 17, with a renewed focus on competition and a drive for retribution.
