The PGA of Bermuda Annual Matchplay Championship is to be held at Belmont Hills next week 6th-10th September, the qualifying stage is Monday, with the knockout stage held Tuesday through Thursday and the final to be played on Friday.
The tournament has been sponsored for nearly 20 years by Joan Reiter and her late husband Fritz Reiter, this year Rick Olson her son-in-law is generously sponsoring the event, due to Mrs Reiter being unwell and it is hoped that next year we will see Mrs Reiter able to come back and present the trophy.
This year sees many new faces and there is going to be some interesting matches with Eric West, Scott Roy, Quinton Sherlock and Daniel Augustus all expecting to make it to the later stages of the event.
Steven Roy is the defending champion and although his play this year has been limited he is promising to give everyone a run for their money.
