The St. George's Colts Under 15 Boys Football team completed their 1st training session of the tour in the morning at the City of Huntsville's John Hunt Park.
The group is being led by St. George's Colts Technical Director Richard Todd who said, “Quickly they were having to adapt to the conditions with temperatures rising toward the mid 90's on the thermometer.”
After touring the city following practice and lunch the team played it's first match during the evening against the host, Huntsville Futbol Club's U16 boys
St. George's were able to hold their older opponents from scoring for the first 30 minutes while creating probing attacks. As fatigue began to set in they conceded three goals in a 10 minute period to finish the half down 3 - 0.
During the second half they again absorbed pressure and prevented any further scoring to close the game at 3 - 0. Charles Marshall in goal produced some fine saves while Ajaleon Dill marshaled the defense well.
St. George’s Coach Karl Roberts said, “I was pleased with the effort from the players as they prepare for the NASA tournament in Atlanta on the weekend. The team has adopted the phrase of "Learn and Grow" as their slogan for the tour.”
