Jo Leedham's 26 points led Jenaya Wade-Fray and the Great Britain Standard Life Women’s Basketball team to a 70-63 victory in Slovak Republic to top their qualifying group for next summer's EuroBasket finals in Poland.
Leedham hit six of her nine three point attempts and added four rebounds as Tom Maher's team won their third straight game.
Natalie Stafford added ten points, Kim Butler had five rebounds to go with her nine points and Julie Page had seven boards and as many points as GB gained revenge for their 76-67 defeat against the Slovaks last week at the NIA.
Great Britain won the tip and Leedham opened the scoring with a lay-up only to see the hosts reel off five straight points before Butler tied things from the Land of Plenty.
Eight straight Leedham points, including two shots from downtown, put GB 13-9 ahead before Slovakia responded with a 12-1 run to force a GB timeout with 66 seconds on the clock.
Although Rose Anderson broke the run with a pair from the foul line, the move had only limited effect as the home team led 26-16 at the first break before Butler trimmed the deficit to eight with a pair of free-throws to open the second period.
GB were still nine down at the five minute mark, but Leedham hit another three to launch a 13-5 end to the period and Julie Page beat the buzzer with a jump shot to cut the hosts' lead to 38-37 going into the locker room.
A Page jump shot followed by Leedham's fifth three pointer of the night gave GB a four point lead after three second half minutes and they were still two up at the midway stage of the third quarter.
That lead grew to six after an Azania Stewart jump shot with 2:33 on the clock, and a pair of Wade-Fray free-throws ensured that the visitors went into the final break with a 53-50 lead.
Scores from Lucia Lascova and Jalcova saw the hosts regain the lead at the start of the fourth period, but four from four Natalie Stafford free-throws put GB back up by one.
Stafford took her tally to ten with a jump-shot, but Lawless made it a three point game at 63-60 going into the final five minutes as she sunk three.
Leedham continued her assault from outside the arc to double that lead, only for Kupcikova to also hit a three to make it 66-63 going into the final three minutes.
A Butler lay-up forced a Slovakia timeout with 2:42 on the clock, and incredibly neither side troubled the score again until with nine seconds remaining when Steph Collins was sent to the line where she coolly secure the win with a pair of free-throws.
Inevitably it was Leedham who had the final word, swatting away Jalcova's shot to wrap up a great night's work from GB.
After the game GB Standard Life women's coach Tom Maher said:
"We started the game with a shoot-out, and Slovakia won that comfortably, going in ahead by ten at quarter-time."
"For them to score 26 in the first quarter, and only 25 in the second half is a telling stat."
Maher had praise for leading scorer Jo Leedham - who hit six triples in a 26 point haul - but believed the win was down to teamwork.
"Jo Leedham was sensational but it really was a team effort. We're pretty sure this is Britain's first win over Slovakia, so we are all pretty proud."
The result means that GB go into Thursday's home game against Germany at the Echo Arena in Liverpool with a 3-1 record and full of confidence following this fantastic win.
