Last Night Members of the Bermuda Brazilian Football School (BBFS) attended the match West Ham vs Deportivo La Coruna (West Ham) for the annual – SBOBET Cup. The annual cup fixture is in aid of West Ham's Academy and in support of Bobby Moore's Cancer Research Fund. West Ham won the match 5-3 on penalties, to keep the cup for a second year in succession.
The BBFS Under 16's put on a much improved display in the final match of the UK tour, to record a convincing 4-0 victory over Peckham's Town 16's.
Kirt Brown led the forward line and capped a dynamic performance by netting twice. Chae Brangman and Errin Butterfield grabbed a goal each, to close the tour on a high note.
BBFS gradually took control of the match and were unfortunate to have narrowly missed the net on the previous 3 occasions. It took a piece of magic from Butterfield to break the deadlock. After a neat build up on the left flank between Jahmeko Harvey Outerbridge and Brown, Brown rolled the ball out wide to Butterfield. Butterfield managed to find space and hit a dipping 25 yard shot, which flew over the keepers outstretched left hand. This set the tone for the remainder of the match.
Brangman scored the second after a build up from the keeper to Daeshun Greene. Greene stroked the ball into Brangman who slammed the ball home at the near post.
MVP for the game Brown playing with a sore hamstring, added two more. The first after a brilliant run and his second via a fine header from a corner.
BBFA got other notable performances from Greene, Nicholas Araujo, Shaquille Bean, Trae Harvey, Zack Friesen and Naquan Smith.
