Bermuda Football Association’s Under 17 Youth Team will be participating for the CONCACAF Pre-Qualifying World Cup quarter-final stage, in Trinidad & Tobago. Bermuda will join St. Kitts, Guyana and Barbados as they advanced to the second round as well; they too won their respective groups in the competition.
Bermuda will be placed in group “E” along with Cuba, St. Kitts & Nevis and host country Trinidad & Tobago. This will be a tall order for our team when competing against the likes of Cuba and Trinidad & Tobago, while we must not take St. Kitts & Nevis lightly.
The local team returned home Monday, July 26th, and since their return, they’ve been hard at work training and preparing for the upcoming tournament. Meanwhile, BFA Youth Director, Devarr Boyles is currently off island. In his absence, BFA Technical Director Derek Broadley and assistant coach Maurice Lowe have been spearheading the training sessions. We can assure you, Coach Boyles will be with the team when they depart for Trinidad & Tobago later this month.
The U17 team will depart Monday, August 16th, for Trinidad & Tobago.
